The 8017 Darth Vader's TIE Fighter set is part of Lego's^® 10th Anniversary line and was released in January 2009. In some places the set was released early, before Christmas 2008. Included is a Darth Vader minifigure with lightsaber. This set was one of the first to have one of the new Darth Vader minifigures. It had two push pieces on either side, which made a small missle come out on that side. The wings flaps could be moved up and down, and the cockpit windshield could be moved up and down. Inside the cockpit was a small space to sit the Darth Vader minifigure, and a little control panel piece. Darth Vader's lightsaber could be stored on the underside of the ship. Also, the design and pieces of the ship are similar to the TIE Defender set.
