Tauntauns are omnivorous reptomammals that are indigeous to the icy planet of Hoth. They are used by the Rebel Alliance as transports and are ridden similar to that of real life horses.
Role in Lego® Star Wars[]
Lego® tauntauns were first seen in the Lego Star Wars video games long before they were ever included in a set. The tauntaun minifigure was first released in 2009, in a set called Echo Base. They were much different than the ones featured in the game, and the Tauntaun was supposed to be the one that Han Solo rode.
