Galactic Republic

The Galactic Republic was the republic from 1,000 BBY to 19 BBY. The Jedi were the peacemakers of the republic. They were enemies to the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. In 19 BBY Darth Sidious or Chancellor Palpatine reorganized the Republic into the ruthless Galactic Empire. Shortly after the reorganization the senators: Padmé Amidala, Bail Organa, and Mon Mothma organized the Rebel Alliance. 24 years later after the death of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, the Alliance reorganized the empire to the New Republic.
