Max Rebo was an Ortolan minifigure released in 2013.
Background[]
Max Rebo was the head of the Max Rebo band, which, at some point during the Galactic Civil War, was employed by the dreaded gangster Jabba the Hutt as musicians on Tatooine, and were unable to leave. Rebo watched firsthand as the plan to rescue the rebel smuggler, Han Solo, from the Hutt, unfurled. The Rebels were eventually captured, however, and sentenced to death.
Much to Jabba's surprise, Luke Skywalker and his friends fought their way free. In the ensuing battle, Rebo escaped Jabb's exploding sail barge. Leaving the music industry, Rebo set up his own restaurant chain and eventually retired on Coruscant.
Role in LEGO® Star Wars[]
Max Rebo first appeared in the set 75020 Jabba's Sail Barge in 2013. In the set, he had short blue legs and a plain blue torso with blue arms and hands. His head, also blue, was a custom mould depicting his long ears and trunk. He also came with a red ball organ, his instrument of choice.
